Locked Out In Norwich
Have you ever been locked out in Norwich? A lot of my customers say the most frustrating thing is finding a locksmith in Norwich who is a genuine twenty four hour locksmith. Although a lot of the locksmith in Norwich advertise they are twenty four hour locksmith incase you get locked out in Norwich they are always unable or not prepared to attend sites out of hours. The other technique used is that they are priced so high that it is cheaper to break a window. I do not call that a twenty four hour locksmith service. Why advertise you are twenty four hours when you are not. At PT Lock and Safe we offer a genuine twenty four hour service for when you are locked out in Norwich and we work from a set price list, so you can be sure you are not being ripped off just because we don't want to get out of bed to open your door.PT Lock & Safe When Your Locked Out In Norwich
Just last night I was contacted by a customer who had lost the keys to his house and was locked out in Norwich, he wanted me to meet him at his house at 9pm. He asked this like it would be a problem, not at all. I arrived a few minutes early and when he came home from work he was very pleased to see me. I quickly picked open his front door lock so he was no longer locked out in Norwich. He asked if I could look at his back door lock whilst I was there. If it had been operable he wouldn't have been locked out in Norwich. I repaired the back door at no extra cost and went on home. I know if that customer ever gets locked out in Norwich again he will call us. Nothing left to do except wait for that next customer who is unlucky enough to get locked out in Norwich

Locksmith Bristol
We are the Locksmith in Bristol
We have all the latest tools and stay up to date with all the latest training to make sure we are the best locksmith in Bristol. I personally love to pick mortice locks getting my best success using the multi gauge pick designed by Chris Belcher, one of the prominent figures in the locksmithBristol world, His wife as I understand was born in Norfolk so Chris apparently has a soft spot for locksmith in Bristol. My Favourite lock to pick is the ERA Fortress, some locksmith in Bristol fear this lock but once you understand the lock picking it becomes fairly simple. A locksmith in Kings Lynn told me the best way was to take a reading from the belly of the lever by turning your pick wire as if you were going to lock the mortice lock and that if it turns to a certain angle then its a high lift and anything else is a low lift. This seemed to work really well for him, however I wasn't getting so much success using this technique. Being an investigative locksmith in Bristol I decide to take the lock apart to study the lever pack. What I found after taking numerous locks apart was something that I thought would make it very easy to pick. Unfortunately this wasn't the case but I persevered and eventually developed a technique that works more than it doesn't. So now whenever I come across a lock that I struggle to pick I just go to my wholesale supplier and get them to send a load of that type of lock to this locksmith in Bristol, take them apart and study the lever packs to see if I can find something which will aid me in my attempts to pick future locks.
Thornhill Security The Locksmith In Bristol
As a Warrant Locksmith in Bristol it is very important that we are able to pick locks rather than drill them for lots of reasons. Mainly so it avoids any confrontation with an upset person who has had a meter fitted to their property without their consent but also because it is quicker ( usually ) and there is no confusion as to whether the locks security has been compromised. Other locksmith in Norwich either don't take the pride in their work or simply just don't care whether they are able to pick these locks or not. Well this locksmith in Norwich takes it personally if I can't pick the lock! Should a locksmith in Bristol be able to pick locks? Well this locksmith in Bristol thinks so. So if you ever get locked out and the locksmith in Bristol who turns up jumps out of his van with a drill in his hand, tell him to get back in his van and call for us, the best locksmith in Norwich. If You Need Lock Opened Call The Locksmith In Bristol Who Cares, We Are Here To Help

10 Minute Safe Opening In Norwich
The customer a well known acountancy firm in Norwich, were looking to move premises but had lost the key to their safe. They called a safe opening Norwich locksmith who quoted them a lot of money without even identifying the safe. They also had the dilema of what to do with the safe which was no longer required. They asked the safe opening locksmith to go ahead and open the unit but he never turned up. They just happened to see one of our vans on the Prince of Wales Road and decided to give us a try. We attended site within two hours of the original call to identify the unit and give a quoted price. The next day the customer called us back and asked us to proceed with the safe opening in Norwich and how quickly could we attend. We recieved the call at 9.30am and arrived on site at 12.25.
Safe opening In Norwich Completed By 12.40
So I unloaded my tools and lock pick from the van, RB Locktools 7 guage two in one pick and proceeded to the safe. The safe had a seven lever lock fitted with false notches to give protection against lock picking. Before I started the safe opening in Norwich I removed the escutcheon cover from the safe so it didn't hinder my lock picking. I put my pick into the lock and moved through the lever pack to see what kind of feel I would get. I immedialtley got caught caught on the false notches. I backed of the tension and raked through the lever pack again the same thing happened again. With really light tension I tried once more and started to get a bit of feeling from the lock, I felt the bolt of the lock jump back a bit and could feel which levers were picked and which were caught in the false notches. I jumped the three levers which were on false notches and the safe opening in Norwich was complete. The two ladies who had been watching me were very impressed and wanted to split the proceeds of the contents of the safe with me. Unfortunately as with many safe opening in Norwich it was empty. It always creates a bit of a buzz when you open a safe and before I knew it I think the whole staff had been down into the basment to see the opened safe. It wasn't long before the owner came down. He was very impressed and we know who he will call first next when he needs a safe opening in Norwich.

Locksmith In Norwich Combination Locks
Combination Locks, Locksmith Norwich
Combination locks have been in use for over 100 years and in countries such as America, they are the most common safe lock in use. The British and European markets have always favoured the traditional keylocks, but with the advent of electronic locks, this trend has begun to change in recent years. (You can find out more regarding electronic locks by clicking on the relevant sub menu).
An introduction to using combination locks by a Locksmith in Norwich
These instructions have been put together from experience by our locksmith in Norwich and are general guidelines only. It is ALWAYS recommended that ANY changes made to codes, either electronic or mechanical, are done with the door of the safe or container OPEN and preferably in the earlier part of the day to ensure that a locksmith in Norwich can be sought if necessary.
Please read the instructions carefully before operating the lock or proceding with changing the combination. There are two marks on the dial ring (see drawing). The mark at the top (the opening index) is used for opening the lock. The index 30° to the left is used only when changing the combination. The dial should always be turned slowly and evenly. A Revolution is counted each time the selected number is aligned with the opening index. |

PT Lock & Safe, Locksmith In Norwich That Change Combinations
Setting a 3 wheel combination lock
WARNING: Never remove the lock case cover or attempt to insert the change key with the lock case cover removed. This should only be attempted by a locksmith in Norwich. Before turning the change key make sure the wing of the key is fully inserted into the lock.
WARNING: Never remove the lock case cover or attempt to insert the change key with the lock case cover removed. This should only be attempted by a locksmith in Norwich. Before turning the change key make sure the wing of the key is fully inserted into the lock.
Changing The Combination
Select three new numbers. For technical reasons, we strongly recommend you DO NOT use any number between 95 and 20 for the last number. For maximum security, try not to use numbers that end in 0 or 5, and do not use numbers in sequence such as 35-36-37. Also 27-48-56 is not as good as 56-27-48
1. Dial the existing combination on the opening index (see steps 1-2-3 above or directions for opening when on factory setting). Open door of container and throw the bolts using the handle.
2. Dial the existing combination again, this time to the changing index. Only use steps 1-2-3 in other words, do not turn the lock as if you were going to open the safe.
3. With the last number set at the changing index, hold the dial securely and insert the change key in the keyhole in the back of the lock. Make sure the wing is entirely inside the lock and comes to a positive stop (see picture above) before turning the key.
4. Turn the key one-quarter turn to the LEFT (see picture above). With the change key in this position, set the new combination as follows: turn the dial to the LEFT, stopping when the first number of the new combination aligns with the changing index the FOURTH time.
5. Turn dial to the RIGHT stopping when the second number is aligned with the changing index, the THIRD time.
6. Turn the dial to the LEFT, stopping when the third number is aligned with the changing index, the SECOND time. Holding the dial in this position, turn the change key back to the RIGHT and remove it. (See Figure 2). The new combination you have chosen is now set in the lock.
CAUTION: BEFORE CLOSING THE UNIT try the new combination several times using your new combination or you may need to call a locksmith in Norwich.

Locksmith In Norwich Can Pick Locks
In this day and age with locksmith training courses readily available to anybody who wants to become a locksmith in Norwich and promises of huge returns its easy to see why the art of picking open locks is being lost. Most of these locksmith courses last one to two days and cover the easiest way to open a lock which is using a book, template, drill and drill bits and a screw driver. The book enables them to identify the lock, the template shows them where to drill, the drill well does the drilling and the screw driver forces the levers until the lock is open. Inevitably you need a new lock you also have a hole in your door which I have seen a bright red door repaired with white decorators mate, not really the look the owner was expecting, if your lucky they will put a repair escuctheon to cover their tracks. To me these guys are not locksmith in Norwich. A locksmith in Norwich won't need a book or template he will just use his favourite lockpick. Leaving no trace that the lock has been picked open.PT Lock & Safe Locksmith In Norwich That Can Pick Locks
At PT Lock and Safe we put great emphasis on non destructive entry as we call it in the trade. Lots of work hours are put into becoming the best lock picking locksmith in Norwich. So remember if you have a lock that needs to be opened, call PT Lock and Safe locksmith in Norwich.

Thinking Of Being A Locksmith In Norwich
Thinking Of Being A Locksmith In Norwich
The Training Periods and why people decide to become locksmithsTraining to be a locksmith in Norwich is a fun and relatively easy thing to do. Like in any business it takes a lot of dedication and hard work however those who do so can build a successful and enjoyable business in the future.
People decide to train as a locksmith in Norwich for all sorts of different reasons. Some decide that they want to become a locksmith Norwich on a full time basis, others may already be in a trade and want to train as a locksmith to add to their skills portfolio whereas some people may find that locksmith skills assist them in their current occupation such as maintenance workers or social housing contractors.
Doing a short training course is an affordable and convenient way for most people to enter the locksmith trade. Many 2 or 3 day courses will show you the skills needed to operate as a general locksmith however the best way you will improve is to practice and further hone your skills and through experience of doing locksmith work.
Types of Work Locksmith in Norwich Carry Out
A general locksmith in Norwich will carry out all kinds of work on both residential and commercial properties. Many new to the trade probably have the impression that most of a locksmiths time is spent picking open doors and dealing with endless lock outs. In reality a lot of work is straight forward lock changes and dealing with faulty locks and mechanisms but not where the customer is physically locked out. Some customers want locks changing due to a security issue, to upgrade locks or to have a faulty or sticking lock repaired.
Gaining Entry using Non Destructive Techniques
A good locksmith training course should teach students how to open a lock using a non destructive method. There are several reasons for this. The obvious one is that a non destructive method saves the lock and does away with the need for the locksmith Norwich to change the lock. However even if the customer has a need for the lock to be changed then a non destructive entry method is still a more favourable option. Locks can be rebuilt so that a new set of keys can be used with it. Also if a destructive method of entry is used then this increases the likelihood that damage could occur to a door or property. In some cases a destructive method of entry is necessary in the case of a faulty lock or in an emergency. However a good locksmith in Norwich should apply his sense and know how to decide on the best course of action on a particular job.
The Cost of Becoming a Locksmith
Anyone seeking to start a career as a locksmith in Norwich will have certain costs to meet in order to get into the locksmith trade. In the first instance there is the cost of training to be a locksmith, in many cases this can be relatively cheap compared to other trades and training courses. Tools are also clearly a necessary purchase any newly trained locksmith needs to make. Again the cost of tools is relatively low and should always retain a decent value in the future.
A good locksmith training course or school will provide students with a list of the best tools to purchase once they have completed their training and are ready to work as a locksmith.
Why become a locksmith In Norwich ?
Training as a locksmith can be a very rewarding career and has the potential to open up many avenues of work. It is also perfect for individuals who want a change from office based work and want to experience a career that takes them out and about.
What sort of work will I be doing?
People locked out of their property is an obvious thought for many people considering becoming a locksmith however many other common jobs will be straight forward lock changes, dealing with faulty doors, security upgrades and many other lines of work many of which will become clear on our training courses.
Are there long working hours?
Hours can vary depending on the frequency and type of jobs. Many locksmiths make themselves available on a 24 Hour basis so you should be prepared to work in the day or night. Also different types of advertising will tend to attract different sorts of work.
How much can I earn?
The earnings potential for locksmiths is very great however it all comes down to the hours that you are prepared to put in. Like in all businesses you need to put in the effort and determination required to succeed and those who do can reap the rewards.
Can I work from home?
Many locksmiths choose to operate on a mobile basis and therefore only require a van. This can be used to carry all your locksmith tools and equipment and stock. Key cutting machines can also be installed thereby enabling a locksmith to offer many of the services of a key cutters shop but without the overheads.
Do I need to be CRB checked?
Although the locksmith industry is not regulated, many private locksmith associations and clubs will require a CRB check for those wishing to join. The Toplocksmiths Association requires all members take a CRB check prior to being accepted as a member.
Are locksmith apprenticeships available?
In reality very few companies offer locksmith apprenticeships. The best method of entry into the trade is to train as a locksmith in Norwich and set up your own business or work in partnership.

Locked Out In Norwich
Locked Out In Norwich
Okay so most of us have done it at some stage in our lives, its embarrassing and yes we feel stupid but you won't be the first and you certainly won't be the last to be locked out in Norwich. Its easily done and not so easy to rectify yourself. Whether its your car, house, caravan, safe or office a simple pull o9f the door, the sudden realisation your keys are on top of a box or on your desk, everything is in slow motion as you watch the door close, a lot more quickly than usual it appears and bang you're locked out in Norwich! I admit I've done it twice so far but I put it down to the shear number of keys I have to deal with, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. The first was when I was seventeen and still living at home, it wasn't that I'd lost my keys or locked myself out I just hadn't taken my keys to work with me. That didn't normally matter because Mum and Dad where usually there but that day I went home for lunch and guess what that's right they were both out, leaving me locked out in Norwich. I did have my lock picks with me and soon managed to open the door so no real problem just an inconvenience. The second time was slightly more embarrassing, I drove to a job for a landlord and during a trip back to my van, left my keys on the side and shut the side door. Locked out in Norwich again!
PT Lock & Safe Call Us If Your Locked Out In Norwich
Luckily I'm in the right trade to get myself out of the situation unfortunately my tools where inside the van. A quick phone call to one of the other engineers and surprisingly quickly my spare keys turned up, accompanied by a rather smiley employee. I still haven't lived down that particular time I was locked out in Norwich. So what should you do to help prevent being locked out in Norwich, Well you could make sure that there is more than 1 key for a start, safe keys can be expensive to get duplicated but if you lose the only key you have trust me it's a lot more expensive to get your safe opened. You could try hiding a key outside but criminals are aware of this so beware. A trusted neighbour or family member who lives close perhaps. Don't leave a window open or latched as this could invalidate your insurance. Maybe get a key chain or better still create a habit of always putting your keys in the same place and before long you just always remember to get your keys. Before the situation arises know your local reputable locksmith in Norwich. Make sure he attends to people who are locked out in Norwich. If you do get locked out in Norwich we are happy to help.

Locksmith in Norwich History of Locks
History Of Locks Locksmith In Norwich
Securing one's property has long been a concern of people throughout the world as well as locksmith in Norwich. Beyond hiding the objects or constantly guarding them the most frequently used option is to secure them with a device, these can be provided by a locksmith in Norwich. Early solutions included knots to either detect, like the Thief knot, or hamper, like the Gordian Knot. Historians are unsure where the first lock was invented, but evidence suggests that locks initially developed independently in the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman civilizations. Wooden locks and keys were in use as early as 4,000 years ago in Assyria. The first known lock with a key is a pin lock. The lock is strung on a rope hanging out of a hole in a door. A cylinder of wood with a hole drilled through its axis is the key, the length of the cylinder being the critical factor. The key is inserted into the hole and the bolt is pushed the correct distance. To lock the door the rope was pulled to extract the key cylinder, simultaneously pulling the bolt closed. This type of lock is still in use in certain parts of the world. Puerto Rico still uses this system. A disadvantage of this lock is that a vandal can push the rope into the hole — an ancient equivalent of putting glue into a lock a problem encountered by locksmith in Norwich.PT Lock & Safe Locksmith In Norwich
Next, the warded lock was invented in China. In the Middle Ages, it came to Europe. This lock is still used in modern times when the security required is not high and cost is a significant factor see your locksmith in Norwich for this type of lock.. This lock has become the most recognisable lock/key design in the Western world. Lock puzzles were used to obscure the locking mechanism or even provide a non-functioning lock for the thief to waste time on.In the early 1900s a wooden pin lock with a wood key was discovered in Egypt and is believed to have been used in 250 b.c.
Early improvements in pin locks included increasing the number of pins to increase security, and changing the orientation of the pins to allow the key to provide the unlocking force instead of a rope, thus establishing the principles of the modern pin tumbler lock. Lock Picking Locksmith In Norwich
Lock Picking Locksmith In Norwich
Lock picking is the art of unlocking a lock by analyzing and manipulating the components of the lock device, without the original key. Although lock picking can be associated with criminal intent, it is an essential skill for a locksmith in Norwich. Lock picking is the ideal way of opening a lock without the correct key, while not damaging the lock, allowing it to be rekeyed for later use, which is especially important with antique locks that would be impossible to replace if destructive entry methods were used unlike the methods employed by Locksmith in Norwich.
The move towards combination locks for high security items such as safes was intended to remove the weakest part of the lock: its keyhole.

In normal situations it is almost always easier to gain access by some means other than lock picking unless you're a good locksmith in Norwich; most common locks can be quickly and easily opened using a drill, bolt cutters, padlock shim, a bump key or a hydraulic jack. The hasp, door, or fixture they are attached to can be cut, broken, unscrewed or otherwise removed, windows can be broken etc. Therefore a lock that offers high resistance to picking by a locksmith in Norwich does not necessarily make unauthorized access more difficult, but will make surreptitious unauthorized access more difficult. Locks are often used in combination with alarms to provide layered security.
Some people enjoy picking locks recreationally as well as locksmith in Norwich. This may also be referred to as Locksport.
Lock pick kits can be purchased openly via the Internet. Many different selections are present. Nine-piece sets and a 32-piece set equipped with a Pick Gun(an automated bump key) for example differ in value and price greatly. However, many lock pickers state that for most simple locks, a basic set of five picks (or even a single pick) is enough; therefore it is unnecessary to carry around a wide variety of professional lock picks. Lockpicks can also be improvised from common items, or machined at home with relative ease. This is also the case with warded locks.
The process of picking pin/tumbler and wafer locks is concerned with causing the two sets of pins (upper or driver pins and bottom pins) to separate such that the cylinder will turn. The point at which the pins properly separate when the lock is unlocked is called the shearline.
This type represents the vast majority of American and European domestic locks, the UK being an exception where lever locks are generally a requirement for home insurance. A different tool set (such as the Hobbs pick) is required for more complex locks which are not easily fabricated. Talk to your locksmith in Norwich to find out the hardest lock to pick.

Locksmith In Norwich Impression Keys
Number One For Key Impressioning, Locksmith Norwich
Key Impressioning is a clandestine method that produces a working key for a target lock without disassembling the lock or using other decoding methods such as "reading" to decipher the combination of the lock. Often a preferred method by a locksmith in Norwich.Impressioning has two alternatives: Straight Key Copying and Key Manipulation
The first way is called Key copying, where a mould of a working key is prepared and an effort is made to produce a key exactly like the one you have. This method is also known as key duplication. The only hitch is that you must have access to the original key from which to make a mould from.
PT Lock & Safe, Locksmith Norwich
In Key Manipulation, a blank key is used to maneuver lock components to determine their proper positions. Then the key is moved to generate marks on the blank. Once the marks are found, the places on the blank which have marks are then filed. It takes an experienced Locksmith In Norwich to read the marks.
Sometimes in some unusual situations there may be a need to have to open the lock for which one does not originally have a key, and this is the time when the "manipulation" technique comes in handy.
A locksmith in Norwich can open a lock without the hassle of picks or tension levers by using these methods.
No special skills or tools are required for a locksmith in Norwich; expensive key-cutting machines can make the job easier but a simple metal file also yields the same outcome. Really it depends of the type of lock you're trying to unlock, what you are trying to achieve, your time restrictions, and whether you are a good key impressioning locksmith in Norwich.
These methods work best on pin tumber, warded and lever type locks and their variations, although with correct adjustments, this method can be used on many more types of locks. You just need to practice to become the best locksmith in Norwich.

How To Fit A Mortice Lock Locksmith Norwich
A simple Mortie lock can be an effective burglary deterrent. Our Locksmith Norwich expert shows how to fit a mortice lock to protect your property.

Step 2: Mark the lock position
Decide on a height for your lock. Hold the lock flat against the door edge at your chosen height, and draw around it with your pencil. Use your tape measure to find the centre point on the side of the door. Mark it with a pencil and draw a longer vertical line through the point.Step 3: Select a drill bit
Select a flat drill bit that is roughly 2mm or 1/16th inch thicker than the lock body. This will ensure a comfortable fit. Hold the lock against the drill bit. Use the masking tape to mark the depth of the lock on the bit, and attach it to the drill.Step 4: Drill
Before you start drilling, remember your drill safety. Put on your goggles. Make sure all loose items of clothing, jewellery and hair are tucked away. Clear the area of any potential hazards and find a steady standing position. Safety first for a Locksmith in Norwich
You may want to wedge the door open to help steady your drilling.
Start just beneath your top pencil mark and drill a series of overlapping holes down to your bottom pencil outline. Drill to the depth marked and take care to keep the bit horizontal and square to the door edge.Step 5: Straighten up the edges
Before you pick up your chisel, remember your chisel safety. Make sure that you are wearing safety goggles and clear the area of potential hazards. Find a steady position and remember to watch your fingers when you do start chiseling. If your not carfeul you'll be a three fingered locksmith in Norwich.
Firstly clear out any wood chippings with the chisel. Then use your chisel to tidy up the edges of the mortice recess so that the mortice will fit. Keep the flat edge of the chisel facing outwards as you work and chisel to the depth of the recess. Scrape out any woodchips.Step 6: Mark the face plate
Now slide the lock into the recess and place the face plate over it. Draw around it.Step 7: Make a recess for the face plate
Begin by making a series of cuts on the edges of your pencil outline. Now chisel out the rest of the recess. Be careful, because if you chisel out too large a recess, it will be difficult to correct.
If you don't feel confident contact your local locksmith in Norwich.
Keep testing the fit to see that the face plate lies flush with the door.Step 8: Mark the key holes
Hold the lock against the face of the door so that the plate is flush with the door edge. Mark through the key hole with your pencil, and then do the same on the other side of the door.Step 9: Drill the key holes
Select a drill bit that is a little larger than the key hole, and insert it into your drill.
Remember your drill safety. A Blind locksmith in Norwich isn't any good to anyone.
Drill along one pencil line through to the lock recess. Repeat this on the other side of the door.Step 10: Test the key hole
Insert the mortice into its recess and check that the key works smoothly.Step 11: Attach the face plate
You may want to drill small pilot holes for these screws, but in most cases you can just drill them straight in.Step 12: Fit keyhole cover
Hold the key hole over the key hole and drill it into place. Repeat on the other side of the door.Step 13: Mark the bolt position on the frame
Turn the key to extend the bolt. Push the door to, and draw around the bolt on the frame.Step 14: Mark the strike plate position
Measure the distance between the inside edge of the door and the strike plate. Mark this measurement on the door frame. Align the strike plate with the pencil line you have just made. The bolt recess must be positioned according to the marks on the edge of the frame. Draw in and around the strike plate.Step 15: Cut bolt and strike plate recesses
Remember your chisel safety. Following your marks, chisel out a hole for the bolt. First cut around your pencil outline, then chisel out the recess. Check the fit of the bolt in the recess.
Then chisel out a shallow recess for the strike plate so that it lies flush with the door frame. Be careful not to chisel too deep a recess as this will be hard to undo. Keep testing the pate until it fits snugly.Step 16: Attach the strike plate
Remember your drill safety. Drill the strike plate into the frame.Step 17: Test
Now test your handy work. Check that the door closes easily and that the key turns smoothly. You're as good as a locksmith in Norwich.

Locksmith Norwich
Number One For Locksmith Norwich
Historically, locksmith in Norwich actually made the entire lock, working for hours hand cutting screws and doing much file-work. Today, the rise of cheap mass production means that this is no longer true, and, though a few expert locksmith in Norwich are also engineers and capable of sophisticated repairs and renovation work, the vast majority of locks are repaired by swapping of parts or like-for-like replacement, or upgraded to modern mass-production items. Until more recently, safes and strongboxes were the exception to this, and to this day large vaults are custom designed and built at great cost, as the cost of this is lower than the very limited scope for mass production would allow, and the risk of a copy being obtained and defeated as practice is removed.Locksmith Norwich Engineers

Safe Opening In Norwich
Number One For Safe Opening In Norwich
The combination lock remains the number-one method for securing a safe door. There are a variety of combination locks available. Combination locks for safes are divided into two classifications: Group 1 and Group 2.Group 2 combination locks are the most common type found on home safes today. They provide one-, two-, or three-number combinations.
Group 1 locks provide a greater degree of protection as they can offer combinations of up to six numbers. These locks are also sturdier, and have more wheels in the lock mechanism. This greatly reduces the probability of even a skilled professional safe Opening in Norwich.
Now, let's take a look at what happens inside a combination lock.
The central lock feature in a combination safe is the wheel pack; a collective set of devices that work together to 'know' the combination. While safe manufactures have come up with several variations on the wheel pack to deter cracking, they are all designed around the same principle to stop the safe opening in Norwich.
A wheel pack |
The wheel pack comprises a combination dial that is attached to a spindle. Inside the lock, the spindle runs through several wheels and a drive cam. The number of wheels in a wheel pack is determined by how many numbers are in the combination - one wheel for each number. When you turn the dial, the spindle turns the drive cam. Attached to the drive cam is a drive pin. As the cam turns, the drive pin eventually makes contact with a small tab on the adjacent wheel called the wheel fly.
Each wheel has a wheel fly on each of its sides. The drive pin spins the first wheel until it makes contact with the wheel adjacent to it. This continues until all the wheels are spinning. This is known as picking up the wheels. Each wheel on the spindle has a notch cut into it. When the right combination is dialed, all the wheels and their notches line up perfectly. Which is what safe opening in Norwich engineers will try to do called manipulation.
Resting just above the wheels is the fence. The fence is a small metal bar attached to a lever. The fence prevents the safe door from being opened without the combination being dialed. It does this by resting on the wheels and blocking the path of the bolt that secures the safe door and stopping the safe opening in Norwich.
When all the wheels line up, their notches align to form a gap. The fence falls into this gap under the force of its own weight. With the fence gone, the bolt can slide freely past and the safe can be opened.

When all the wheels in the wheel pack are in the correct position, their notches align to form a gap. Under the force of its own weight, the fence falls into the gap allowing the safe to be opened.Though this design is relatively straightforward, it is mighty in its simplicity. The wheel pack design has been used for almost 100 years and still proves difficult to overcome for even the most skilled safecracker. But, it is not fool-proof. In the next Blog we will take a look at the various ways safe Opening in Norwich engineers defeat this design.

Safe Opening In Norwich
Safe Cracking Or Safe Opening In Norwich
In the movies, master thieves and spies can deftly defeat a safe in a matter of seconds using little more than steady hands and a good ear. Safe opening in Norwich isn't really that easy of course, but expert safecrackers really can get through just about any lock mechanism. It's a matter of having the right tools, the right skills and plenty of patience.
In this blog, we'll examine the fundamentals of this rare skill and show you the ins and outs of safe opening in Norwich.
Despite the tried-and-true design of the safe, it contains a fundamental weakness: Every safe must be accessible to a safe openng Norwich locksmith or other authority in the event of a malfunction or lock-out. This weakness forms the basis of safeopening in Norwich.
PT Lock & Safe For Safe Opening In Norwich
In order to understand safe opening in Norwich, you need to first understand the safe and the basic mechanisms that are used to protect it. Safes come in a variety of sizes and shapes that are specified for home or commercial use. Most safes fall into two categories: the fire safe and the burglary safe. The construction of a safe is specific to its intended function. Depending on the owner's needs, a safe may be wall-mounted, set into (and seemingly under) the floor or simply bolted to the ground.
Fire safes are reinforced with fire retardant materials but have little in the way of actual protection against unwanted entry. The typical burglary safe is built to withstand a considerable attack. But due to their reinforced steel frames and iron cladding, the burglary safe tends to act like an oven; effectively cooking the contents when exposed to heat or flame.
The most popular method of safecracking is to simply steal the entire safe and move it to a location where the safecracker has the time and tools to take the safe apart and remove its contents. However, when design or circumstances do not permit this, the safecracker must contend with the locking mechanism. We'll look at the locking mechanism in detail in the next blog. Key Impressioning Locksmith In Norwich
Key Impressioning Locksmith In Norwich
What is a key impressioning locksmith in Norwich? Well it's not a locksmith in Norwich who impersonates keys, it's a locksmith that makes keys to a lock without taking the lock apart or causing any damage to the lock. How is it done you might ask? Well frstly you need to find the correct key blank for the lock and make sure it enters the keyway. Step two is to blade the key blank, this involves taking a file and making it ready to accept the marks from the lock. Step three is to clamp the key blank into a clamping device such as vise grips or a dedicated key impressioning clamp. Insert the key blank into the lock and apply slight turning pressure whilst tilting the key blank up and down within the keyway of the cylinder lock. If you get everything just right you can just about see faint marks on the bladed key blank. Reading these marks is the real skill of a key impressioning locksmith in Norwich.
PT Lock & Safe, Skilled Locksmith In Norwich
Step four once you have filed where you believe to be the correct marks you go back to step three and continue this process removing small amounts of the key blank at a time until eventually the key turns in the lock. Step five is to duplicate the key you have made onto a new blank as during the impressioning you will have weakened the key and also because it won't look quite right. You may have to file the key you have duplicated to allow it to turn smoothly in the lock. A good locksmith in Norwich should have these skills and the correct tools for completing this type of task. Key impressioning is an ideal way to make keys to locks where it is not possible to easily take the lock apart or the lock may be riveted together or just in accessible. This type of locksmith in Norwich work is used a lot in the auto locksmith industry and also locksmiths in Australia and america use this technique rather than picking locks.
